A structured learning pathway that enables non-lawyer corporate employees in India to understand, apply and comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 in their day-to-day work. The pathway progresses from basic privacy concepts and key definitions to concrete obligations, rights, security practices, vendor management, breach handling and practical workplace scenarios.
By the end of this proficiency pathway, learners will be able to explain the core purpose and structure of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, correctly identify when the Act applies in common corporate situations, distinguish between the roles of Data Principal, Data Fiduciary and Data Processor, and recognise their own responsibilities as employees. They will be able to apply DPDP rules on notice, consent, legitimate uses, data minimisation, security safeguards, retention and deletion in typical workplace contexts such as HR, sales, marketing, IT and vendor management. Learners will also be able to support their organisation’s compliance by following secure data handling practices, escalating potential breaches and grievances appropriately, and making everyday decisions that align with both the letter and the spirit of the DPDP Act.
