📂 CDS Exam - General Knowledge

Description

Ecological Concepts and Ecosystems encompasses the study of how organisms interact with each other and their physical environment. The subject covers food chains and food webs showing energy flow, nutrient cycles returning materials to the environment, populations and communities, ecosystem structure and function, and succession describing ecosystem change over time. Learners will understand how ecosystems maintain organization and how energy and nutrients flow through ecological systems.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this subject, learners will be able to understand ecosystem structure and components. They will analyze food chains and energy flow. Learners will understand nutrient cycles. They will evaluate population dynamics. They will analyze ecosystem succession. Finally, learners will synthesize information to understand how ecosystems function.
